Impromptu Baked Mac

Posted by Anna Escondo |

Last Sunday, my husband requested me to make him this dish while we're walking down the aisle of our favorite grocery (SM Hypermarket, Sucat).

I am not really familiar with the recipe for Baked Mac and I'd usually consult recipe books or blogs whenever I cook.  But since this was an impromptu request, I started grabbing the most logical ingredients I can find.  And voila! I was able to make my very first baked macaroni.  I have included in this post my impromptu recipe.  Hope you get to enjoy it.  Also, I do appreciate if you could share your own version, too!

Ingredients:

1/4 K Lean Ground Pork
1 can Whole Button Mushrooms (sliced)
1 Medium Red Onion (chopped)
1/4 cup Nestle Cream
1 pack (250g) Del Monte Spaghetti Sauce Italian Style
1/4 tsp. Iodized Salt
200g Royal Elbow Macaroni
1 cup grated Magnolia Quickmelt Cheese
Black Pepper

Procedure:

Elbow Macaroni - Cook according to package instructions.

Meat Sauce - Saute the onion.  Then add the lean ground pork.  Once this is browned, add the mushrooms, spaghetti sauce and cream.  Season with iodized salt and black pepper to taste.  Simmer for 5 minutes.

Baking Procedure:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 mins.  Combine the cooked elbow macaroni, meat sauce and half of the grated cheese and evenly distribute in an 8"x8" baking pan.  Top with the rest of the cheese.  Cover the baking pan with aluminum foil.  Bake for 8 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

The Verdict:

My husband loved it that he ended up eating 2/3 of it.  I get to bring 1/3 to the office and shared it with my friends (Ate Ga and Boss Chits) and they both loved it.

My very first blog entry

Posted by Anna Escondo |

This is my very first blog.  Thanks to the music of Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos, Plumb, Pink and Avril Lavigne for keeping me sane and inspired.  I have been wanting to write articles on the things I liked and/or disliked but haven't really had the opportunity.  Thanks to Blogger. com because I can now finally continue what I have been putting off for a long time even though the idea of tweaking templates and learning some necessary web technologies to make my blog successful is quite overwhelming.

Being the usual OC me, I have Googled all the information I need to put up a blog.  And after pouring through a lot of articles and posts, I finally felt the need to start writing my very first post.  I am very ecstatic to share to the world my take on some of the names, places and things here and abroad.  Some may agree and some may not but what the heck, it's just my opinion.  So keep on reading and I will keep on writing.
